About the job
- Take block-outs and concept art and turn them into fully dressed game levels/environments in Unreal Engine 5.
- Use assets or model or arrange environment geometry, apply textures, lighting, foliage, and polish until quality.
- Collaborate closely with level designers, environment/3D artists, and programmers.
- Optimize scenes for real-time performance, manage collisions, LODs, and engine constraints.
Must-haves
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Level/Environment Artist in shipped games.
- Strong portfolio of full levels or major locations built in Unreal Engine.
- Proficiency with Unreal Engine environment tools (e.g., Landscape, Foliage, Lighting) + knowledge of modular construction.
- Excellent visual composition, understanding of form, lighting, space, and player flow.
- Good remote communication, self-motivated, clear in English.
- Creative mindset: you can bring strong ideas and iterate fast.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with narrative-driven or atmospheric games, sci-fi or dystopian themes.
- Skills in modeling/UV/texturing (Blender, Maya, 3ds Max) or strong pipeline knowledge.
- Experience with Blueprint or C++ light scripting for environment interactions.
- Experience with lighting/atmosphere and environmental storytelling.
